Global Warming

Global warming is a problem that we are facing these days. What does global warming mean? Global warming is the observed increase in the average temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans in recent decades and its projected continuation.

The ozone layer, which is the shelter of the harmful radiation, is facing serious problems that are caused by humans. An ozone layer is vitally important to life because it absorbs biologically harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation emitted from the sun. The first cause is human activities and because of them, the concentration of carbon dioxide has increased. Another cause is combustion of fossil fuels and it has also increased the concentration of carbon dioxide. These problems have caused the Ozone layer to start decreasing in some places which puts the people in some areas in danger. If people get infected there is a danger of getting skin cancer and other diseases.
Water expands when heated, and sea levels are expected to rise due to climate change. Rising sea levels will also result as the polar caps begin to melt. Increased greenhouse gases and the greenhouse effect also are feared to contribute to an overall warming of the Earth’s climate, leading to a global warming (even though some regions may experience cooling, or wetter weather, while the temperature of the planet on average would rise).

My name is Eid Al Qubaisi and I was born on the twenty fifth of May in 1988. I am from the UAE and I am living in Abu Dhabi which is the capital of the UAE. My hobbies are fishing, watching movies and listening to music.

Before I applied to the Higher College of Technology I was studying at school. I studied for 12 years which were hard, but they passed rapidly and at the end I felt happy. I graduated with an average of 75. Now I am very happy because I am in level 2 and I expect to get high marks in the final exams because I have already increased my knowledge. The teachers are friendly and helpful and because of them my skills have improved.

When I finish my studies and get a bachelor’s Degree in accounting I hope to get a good job with a high salary. I think I will work for a few years and save money, then I will think about marriage.

My ambition is to be a successful person who likes to be creative in his work and I hope to be like my father.
